How to distinguish wire and cable?

There is no strict boundary between "wire" and "cable".

Products with a small number of cores, small product diameter and simple construction are usually referred to as wires. Those without insulation are called bare wires, others are called cables.

The larger conductor cross-sectional area (greater than 6 square millimetres) is called large wire, smaller (less than or equal to 6 square millimetres) is called small wire, insulated wire is also known as cloth wire.

Second, the different cables

(1) Category: H - municipal communications cable HP - wiring cable HJ - local cable

(2) insulation: Y - solid polyolefin insulation YF - foam polyolefin insulation YP - foam / solid skin polyolefin insulation

(3) Inner sheath: A - plastic coated aluminium tape bonded shielded polyethylene sheath S - aluminium, steel double metal tape shielded polyethylene sheath V - polyvinyl chloride sheath

(4) Characteristics: T - petroleum paste filled G - high frequency isolation C - self-supporting

(5) Outer sheath: 23---Double layer of anti-corrosive steel tape wrapped around the outer polyethylene sheath; 33---Single layer of fine steel wire armored polyethylene sheath; 43---Single layer of coarse steel wire armored polyethylene sheath; 53---Polyethylene sheath Polyethylene cover layer; 53--Single-layer steel belt wrinkle longitudinal armouring polyethylene cover layer; 553--Double-layer steel belt wrinkle longitudinal armouring polyethylene cover layer

Three, cable type code

1. Application code - not marked as power cable, K as control cable, P as signal cable;

2. Insulation code - Z oil-impregnated paper, X rubber, V polyvinyl chloride, YJ cross-linked polyethylene

3, Conductor material codes - not marked as copper, L as aluminium

4, Inner sheath code - Q lead covered, L aluminium covered, H rubber sheathed, V polyvinyl chloride sheathed

5, Derivative code - D non-drip, P dry insulation;

6, Outer sheath code

7, Special product codes-TH wet heat tape, TA dry heat tape;

8, Rated voltage-unit KV

Four, different roles of the cable

1. SYV: Solid polyethylene insulated RF coaxial cable

2. SYWV(Y): physically foamed polyethylene-insulated cable for cable TV systems, video (RF) coaxial cables (SYV, SYWV, SYFV) - for closed-circuit surveillance and cable TV projects

SYWV (Y), SYKV cable television, broadband network special cable structure: (coaxial cable) single oxygen-free round copper wire physical foamed polyethylene (insulation) (tin wire) (aluminum), polyvinyl chloride (polyethylene)

3, signal control cable (RVV sheathed wire, RVVP shielded wire) - for building intercom, burglar alarm, fire, automatic meter reading and other projects

RVVP: copper core PVC insulated shielded PVC sheathed flexible cable Voltage 300V/300V2-24 cores - use: instruments, meters, intercom, monitoring, control installation

 4, RG: physical foam polyethylene insulation access network cable - for coaxial fiber optic hybrid network (HFC) in the transmission of data analog signals

5, KVVP: polyvinyl chloride sheathed braided shielded cable - use: electrical appliances, instruments, power distribution devices for signal transmission, control, measurement

6, RVV (227IEC52/53) PVC insulated flexible cable - use: household appliances, small power tools, instruments and power lighting

7、AVVR flexible cable for installation with PVC sheath

8, SBVV HYA data communication cable (indoor and outdoor) - for telephone communication and connection of radio equipment and for wiring of distribution boxes in telephone wiring networks

9, RV, RVP polyvinyl chloride insulated cables

10, RVS, RVB - for household appliances, small power tools, instruments, meters and power lighting connection cables

11, BV, BVR PVC insulated cable - use: for electrical instrumentation equipment and power lighting fixed wiring

12, RIB speaker connection cable (audiophile cable)

13, KVV polyvinyl chloride insulated control cable - use: electrical appliances, instruments, power distribution devices signal transmission, control, measurement

14, SFTP twisted pair cable transmission of telephone, data and information network

15, UL2464 computer connection cable

16, VGA monitor cable

17, SYV coaxial cable wireless communications, broadcasting, monitoring systems engineering and related electronic equipment in the transmission of radio frequency signals (including integrated coaxial cable)

18, SDFAVP, SDFAVVP, SYFPY coaxial cable, lift special

19, JVPV, JVPVP, JVVP copper-core PVC insulation and sheathing copper wire braided electronic computer control cable
